Course content

Communicatie & Taalvaardigheid focusses on oral communication. The stuent learns to communicate about his/her artistic work, and learns to speak in front of a group of people. Special attention is paid to dealing with fear of public speaking. During this course, the student also learns to engage in functional conversations, such as meetings, and he/she also learns to give feedback.

The course is very practically-oriented and consists of several assignments by means of which the student learns to speak in front of a group of people, and learns to communicate in the most appropriate way. The student is evaluated by means of permanent evaluation, taking into account his or her individual initial situations (which communicative competences did he/she already master and at which level, ans which evolution did he/she go through). The way in which the student presents oneself in class, is also important, and is also taken into consideration in the evaluation. A large willingness to participate and cooperate is expected, and an attitude of respect towards the group. In that way a supportive learning environment is assured. This implies that the student is present during class.
