Students are expected to familiarise themselves with social and political events from 1900-2000.

An excellent academic is: Hobsbawm, Eric J. The age of extremes: a history of the world, 1914-1991. Vintage, 1996.

Learning outcomes (text)

On completion of this course you will be able to recognise the social, economic and political factors that have influenced the development of 20th century fashion.
You will be able to analyse and contextualise individual looks and silhouettes
