Learning outcomes (text)

Students study typography on the macro and micro level:
— Character: students apply types of typographic characters, letter forms and their names
— Fonts: students analyze, categorize and use fonts
— Text: students distinguish reading text from text image
— Format: students can create and refine letter and text compositions, and solve other formal problems
— Object: students translate complex assignments into a typographic design; articulate the notion of ‘readability’ in language and typography structurally (hierarchy, tempo), conceptually and intentionally (visual rhetoric); understand the architecture of typographical media
