Learning outcomes (text)

The student is able to:
1. represent a group of students, by taking up a shared viewpoint and presenting a shared position in a professional way in a consultation council ;
2. communicate in a clear way, by transmitting information orally and written;
3. actively cooperate, inter alia, in the departmental student council (keeping appointments , not only proclaim their own opinion, promoting team spirit )
4. participate in decision-making , to formulate future-oriented proposals and to look for constructive solutions
5. plan and organize , to cooperate in the organization of an event
6. coordinate , by leading a group of students in taking up positions , organizing activities
7. reflect on an independent and critical way

The student is able to communicate in a goal-oriented way and to communicate information clearly in writing and/or oral form.

Learning objectives

The student learns to:
1. play an active role in the representation of (the interests of) fellow students and is professional in his role.
2. communicate accurately, clearly and as intended.
3. take an active role in the student council at the Academy and to take into account the backbone (students of his/her main subject/education) and to inform them.
4. find solutions for decision making.
5. plan, organise and coördinate.
6. make decisions (independent) in the best intrest of the project and to make connections.
7. work towards a result.
8. critically reflect on your own role within the organisation of the project.

Course content

The student learns how to play an active role in the representation of (the interests of) fellow students and how to contribute at (to improve) the organization of the school (the Academy). The student is expected to take an active role in the student council at the Academy and to take into account the backbone (students of his/her main subject/education) and to inform them. The student can take specific tasks in the organization of student related matters e.g. the organization of the annual starters’ exhibition, the “masked ball”, projects, Sid-in fairs, celebrations, other events; but also take new initiatives himself. At the beginning of the academic year some introduction classes will be given to explain the school’s structure and its different governing and consultative bodies. Some follow-up interviews with the supervisor of the course are organized monthly

Some follow-up interviews with the supervisor. The student will make a written report of his project and is own role whitin the project.
