Educational organisation (text)

The student is individually supervised, assessed and evaluated in the studio.
This means that participation in the classes and involvement in the studio is essential. In the event of legitimate absence, bring an attestation of absence to the student secretariat as soon as possible. Illegitimate absenteeism may compromise your study progress.

Learning outcomes (text)

Through the offered programme of every involved study programmes/options and a self-proposed and motivated programme, by which the student can become proficient in, deepen, broaden his artistry.
Every study programme/option offers a programme (proposal) with regard to Artistic Practice. The student consults and discusses his choices with the involved responsible coordinator. The student must submit a motivation to be approved by the involved responsible.
Following aspects can be addressed:
Internationalisation
• The student participates in some form of internationalisation, workshops, internship, international exchange/lecture, exhibition visits, study trips, scholarships.
Presentation/Communication/Portfolio
• The student participates in interim and final presentations and presents his artistic work, both internally and externally. This can be in the form of a portfolio/participation in exhibitions/workshops/...
Internship/Work-field experience
• The student gets to know the work-field of his chosen discipline and already gains beginner experience.
Professionalisation
• The student deepens/informs himself through contacts and possible collaborations, participation in fairs, workshops,... in his (own) discipline, to get to know the different positions of his artistry.

Learning objectives

The student has the skills needed to handle the various aspects related to the development of a professional career as an artist.

Course content

Students are able to collect, analyse and draw personal artistic associations with supporting research material, elaborating visual presentations of this research material using graphic visual material, textual reflections and multimedia applications. Students are able to conduct a variety of artistic experiments and improvisations using hairstyling and modelling techniques. Students are able to support this research in text, through critical and personal consideration. Students follow supporting professionally oriented research through introductions to professional practice, as offered in workshops, lectures, internships (subject to availability) and similar experiences.
Specific professionally oriented workshops and lectures include the following:
- Various workshops and lectures specific to the fashion industry; makeup, styling and photography; press policy and communication; management in the fashion industry; design/distribution.

Evaluation (text)

The student presents his work process in the context of Artistic Practice in one of the following forms: presentation, written report/reflection, or 2D/3D work result or a combination of the aforementioned.
The presentation form is recorded in the individual program approved by the teacher, which was submitted before 15 October. In the program, the teacher also describes the weights of the various aspects to be evaluated.

The dates for submitting the assignments / tutorials / final presentation will be notified to the student by e-mail in advance, depending on the type of activity to be evaluated.

The assessment at the end of semester 2 is based on an interim presentation with oral feedback during the academic year and a final evaluation at the end of semester 2.

During the final evaluation, both the process (20%) and the final presentation (80%) are evaluated.

General comments:
• Mandatory participation in the education and study activities.
• Assignments must be submitted or presented on specified dates
