Course content

The curriculum will be determined in consultation with the principal teacher.

*Mastery of harpsichord technique and sound production (Schnellen, amongst others)
*Practical study of musical styles of the entire repertoire
*Study of the various types of harpsichords
*Study of tuning systems (theoretical and (especially) practical)
*Instrument maintenance
*Practical implementation of the knowledge from historical sources and treatises in order to achieve an historically informed performance. This shapes the student into an independent musician.
