EM01: know-how / expertise
The student knows the Belgian and European nomenclature of wire and cable.
The student knows the AREI classification of cables' burning behaviour.
The student can distinguish the various parts of electric transmission and distribution.
The student can understand the properties mentioned on a FACD.
The student can name the various aides for high-voltage connections.
The student can read and understand the type plate of an AC engine.
The student can read the couple/power revolutions characteristic of a motor and link it to the required safety measures.
The student can identify external influences and select suitable electric materials with regard to their degree of protection and their application.
The student knows the various mechanical and electrical properties of wire and cable, and can provide examples.
The student can enumerate the different steps in connecting high voltage (vital 5, 7 and 8).
The student knows the different types of high voltage switches and separators in view of their application in the grid.
The student can select a suitable FACD.
The student can execute a simplified cable calculation.
The student can explain the link between the dangers of using and applying electricity and external influences/circumstances.
The student understands the properties and different voltage levels of the electric distribution network.
The student can secure electric motors appropriately.
The student can recognize various kinds of wires and cables.
