Learning outcomes (list)

The professional bachelor in social educational care work actively contributes (on micro-, meso- and macrolevel) to increase understanding and commitment concerning ethical, normative and social issues related to the profession. He acts in accordance to the universal rights and values.
The student discusses different theories on social stratification, as well as on the meaning and impact on society of social inequality and stratification
The student makes use of the framework and certain mechanisms linked to socialization and social controll, culture and cultural diversity, social inequality, deviant behavior and the social structures in society
The student explains why the MattheĆ¼s-effect could have a negative impact on the effectiveness of public services and social care
The student motivates the current cultural diversity in our society with regard to dominant cultures, subcultures, 'superdiversity' sociological explanations for ethnocentrism, transmigration...
The student critically reflects on equal opportunities and diversity in our society
The bachelor in social educational care work adapts his professional agogical conduct by making use of critical self reflection, recent insights from scientific research and local, European and international evolutions.
The students discusses the impact of socialization and differential socialization in identity formation
The student recognizes the different paradigms of sociology in the different approaches and theoretical frameworks
The student links the daily use of language in current news coverage to the pure use of language concerning socialogical/social themes
