Learning outcomes (list)

Understands law fields and aspects most relevant to the business world; he/she can resolve less complex practical problems within these fields.
The student understands the mortality tables
The student is able to enumerate the rights and duties of the insurer, the policy holder, the insured and the beneficiary
The student is familiar with conditions that life insurance policies have to comply to for the premiums to be tax deductible
The student knows the different types of life insurances
The student has insight in the different types of personal insurance
The student distinguish the differences in coverde gurantuees provided by the different insurance policies
Is familiar with the tax, finance and insurance businesses and knows how to handle relatively complex legal issues within these areas.
The student is able to interprete the 'information sheet' of a 'group insurance'
The student determines the tax benefits of the different types of life insurance
The student is able to define the object, the purpose and the applicability of the supplementary pension Act
The student is able to apply the 'proportionality-rule' and the 'first risk insurance rule'
Substantively supports the law professionals (bailiffs, notaries public, magistrates, barristers, solicitors,…)
The student calculates the deductible and maximum cover in case of both corporal and material damage
The student calculates the compensation amount in case of home theft
The student calculates the insurance premium for a fire insurance
The student calculates the insurance premium for work floor accidents insurance coverage
Provides first line legal counsel and assumes the legal interests of clients and principals in accordance with the profession’s deontological code.
