Course content

- All knowledge of English Language and Culture 1 & 2 will be considered acquired knowledge.
- The students’ vocabulary knowledge will be expanded, largely autonomously, through the use of authentic texts concerning a variety of cultural and literary subjects. The students are required to do research on the authors, topics, genres… They will also do text analysis. All of their personal work will be compiled into a portfolio, together with notes and educated opinions on the texts.
- The students will also process the necessary grammar. An important aspect will be the use of metalanguage to interpret and explain grammar items.
- The students are required to read books outside of the classroom and will process their reading in a portfolio assignment.
- The students are expected to have a strong interest in Anglo-Saxon culture and to show this through their work.
- The students will perform peer-teaching.
