Course content

The module consists of a number of short inputs from artists from different fields for the students to inspire their own research and artistic practice. After that, the group meets with the teacher/mentor to continue the conversation and exchange from Artistic Practice 1, looking at how the individual processes have developed (through the time between modules as well as through the inputs during Artistic Practice 2) and how each student continues during the second semester.

After this intensive, each student continues with their artistic practice and develops formats to be exchanged with the field. Possible formats are: choreographic residencies, performative/danced drafts developed during these residencies, videos thereof, workshops or courses, participating with own contribution in conferences or festivals, or other. It is important that the student engages in some kind of exchange with the field outside of the course. This ‘tuning the field’ is monitored by the student’s mentor.

Each student documents and reflects on the experiences and results of this workshop in a written and/or visual (drawing, photo, video) assignment. Its word count resp. exact form is determined by the teacher. This documentation and reflection will become part of the individual portfolios that each students starts in module 1.
