Course content

Each student decides how to shape their artistic practice for the last semester before their master project. They shape their artistic practice in the format and for the community deemed appropriate in relation to the process so far and to the envisioned outcome in consideration of its embodiment and of its research aspects. Possible formats include performances or dance pieces, lecture-performances, performative installations, activist projects, workshops, a combination of these, or other. Possible communities to be addressed include the professional field, peers and colleagues, a general public, an online public, amateurs and workshop participants, any combination of these, or other.

The aim is to continue extending the dialogue between the student with their practices and a wider professional and/or societal field, and to engage in an exchange with the peers from the group about their experience. The student will recognise the different roles required to build a sustainable developing practice and will identify and engage the appropriate collaborators to support this. The embodied artistic research is taken into a setting that stimulates a discourse between the work and its position in the field and /or society.

Each student documents and reflects on the experiences and results of this workshop in a written and/or visual (drawing, photo, video) assignment. Its word count resp. exact form is determined by the teacher. This documentation and reflection will become part of the individual portfolios that each students starts in module 1.
