Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student knows the various visual elements.
BA2 - The student has the necessary knowledge, skills and insights regarding material, form, action, concepts, function and contents of the chosen medi
The student understands the basic principles of digital image manipulation. He / she can use the correct terminology.
The student masters the conceptual and technical aspects at beginners level.
The student masters the most recent and common software for image manipulation at beginners level.
The student can retouch and manipulate own photo material where necessary.
BA5 - When developing his/her personal visual language the students starts from a searching and reflective attitude when developing one's own visual language.
The student manages various digital applications at beginners level and can decide for himself where and how these applications can be used.
The student has his own visual language at beginners level.
The student can grasp the meaning of his/her (autonomous) work at beginners level.
BA7 - The student is able to organize his/her artistic project in consultation with others.
The student can complete an assignment within a predetermined timeframe (short and long term).

Course content

The course covers working with image-editing software. The technical operation of a computer is clarified and the specific terminology explained. The student learns to retouch and manipulate photographs.There is room for experiment, so that the student can gain insight in his autonomous werk. Teaching methods: study of the software, complemented with didactic exercises (also personal work).
