Learning outcomes (list)

BA3 - The student knows about and understands the social, cultural, artistic, historical and international context of the visual arts and artistic praxis, and continues to develop this knowledge and understanding.
"The student has gained insight into the dramatic structures of theater performances and can develop a deeper analysis of characters, action, costumes, decor, lighting, grime, etc. "
BA4 - The student develops and sharpens his/her critical and investigative attitude towards designs and/or realizations that arise from visual experiments and research, emotion and intuition.
The student is able to critically assess a theater performance.

Course content

For the course Production Analysis students watch five performances in group. They analyse them thoroughly in a paper, thereby discussing the visual aspects (costumes, scenography, light, etc.) as well as formulating an opinion of one's own. If possible, a critical discussion in group is had after the performance. The paper is the subject of an oral discussion in which additional questions are asked and feedback is provided.
