On the basis of one or more specific cases, song texts or an opera performance are analysed and related to the music.

Using concrete examples of cross-pollinations between music and literature, students are further initiated into the interpretation and interpretation of literary texts that form the basis for a composition.

An attempt is made to examine the way in which music and literature correlate. Special attention is paid to song and opera. Texts are placed in a general cultural-historical framework and analysed together. In the case of poetic texts, keys are provided for translation, analysis and interpretation. In the case of opera libretti, the shifts are checked against the literary source; the text is dramaturgically analysed; interpreted with a view to staging.
