Learning outcomes (list)

01: Theoretical logistics knowledge: applies general theoretical logistics knowledge in the fields of transportation and warehouse management and estimates the influence of other processes and links of the logistics chain on the logistics processes in which the graduate himself is involved.
The student analyzes simple arithmetic problems and works out an efficient solution
The student uses Excel for logistics
The student makes calculations concerning weight and volume in function of transport
02: Logistics processes, implementation of improvements: analyzes simple logistics processes and techniques and makes improvement proposals. The graduate participates in the implementation of improvements for effectiveness, efficiency, quality, safety and environment.
The student checks all completed documents and declarations related to customs operations
The student checks the correctness of the documentation and (billing) data provided by the client/customer
The student checks the customs documents against the real flow of goods (e.g. bill of lading)
The student verifies that agreements with service providers/customers were met
The student verifies that the driver and the truck/trailer have the necessary certificates and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to transportation
The student verifies that the documents necessary for the assignment are present and do not contain errors
Based on the information provided by the customer, the student checks the customs code and tariffs
The student will adjust the schedule in response to changing circumstances, taking into account the agreed priorities
The student collects the necessary information about the customer and the goods
The student will monitor the activities of the staff and verify
The student will follow up on incidents per driver
03: Communicate: communicates effectively and matter-of-factly about the logistics processes in which he is involved both internally and externally in the common business language.
The student answers standard emails in English/French
The student communicates with the financial department if agreements with service providers/clients were not met
The student will contact the customs department in case of incomplete data, doubt or problem cases
The student will contact emergency services if necessary
The student uses the correct jargon in Dutch
Student reads French/English language instructions and procedures and uses aids as needed
The student will conduct a standard business telephone conversation in English/French
The student exchanges information with internal services, customs services/authorities
04: Teamwork, reporting: works constructively and flexibly in team, operationally directs other team members and reports on results according to the company's logistical objectives
The student will report on his/her own work according to workplace arrangements

The student identifies and reports irregularities in recording the order, preparing the customs declaration, etc.
