having finished at least 100 ects credits in the programme AND having passed, or having a tolerated mark for Labcluster Clinical Biology 2 AND (to be taken together with Bacteriology and Serology OR previously registered for Bacteriology and Serology) AND (to be taken together with Hemotology 3 OR previously registered for Hemotology 3).

Lab engineer - Job analysis and Planning Lab activities
describes the pathogenic power of human parasites.
describes fungi, their morphology and reproduction.
gives an overview of the different fungus disorders in classical and opportunistic infections and the techniques used to be diagnosed.
describes the human parasites, their life cycle and transfer.
describes the processing of medical bacteriologic samples: recognizes any commensal flora, searches for pathogenic microbes and identifies them.
chooses the most appropriate technique to efficiently track a parasite.
Lab engineer - Execution of laboratory activities
executes non-infectious serological tests: searching for antigens and/or antibodies.
determines blood types according to the gel method.
executes a direct and indirect Coombs and crossmatch with the gel method.
determines the present antibody/bodies using the results of a panel in different techniques (LISS Coombs, enzyme panels).
cultivates fungi and identifies them.
handles the correct laboratory techniques for research of clinical samples in a mycological laboratory.
identifies human parasites using a specimen from clinical samples and the anamnesis of the related patient.
analyses critically their actions and adjust to obtain a reliable result.
gives possible causes of problems in blood type determination.
Lab engineer - Processing and Interpretation
processes medical bacteriological samples: recognizes any commensal flora, searches for pathogenic microbes and identifies them.
differentiates malignant and non-malignant blood cells, digital or analogous.
interprets the result of the Coombs determination and the cross matches.
digitally or analogously assesses the blood count (WBC, RBC, Platelets) of benign and malignant abnormal blood count.
interprets the result of the antibiogram.
implements the pre-analytical conditions.
interprets the result of serologic tests.
interprets the result of a blood type determination.
draws a conclusion from the result of the laboratory mycology research supporting the diagnostics.
gives possible blood and plasma donors suitable for the blood type determination.
