Korte omschrijving

This course is about intercultural differences and you experiencing them. The heart of the course is an intercultural experience in any setting. In relation to this experience you check your knowledge about the topics of the course. The main focus of this course is the importance of intercultural competence.
Starting with insights on culture and communication the following subjects will be covered: demographic and cultural issues, narrative approach, communication models and patterns, dimensions of culture, cultural adaptations perspectives, culture shock and intercultural competence. The assignments will reflect on your experience which will have broadened your horizon and intercultural skills.

Leerinhoud

The heart of the course is the intercultural experience in different settings. In relation to this experience you check your knowledge about the following topics of the course:

  • Importance of intercultural communication: demographic and cultural issues.
  • communication models
  • dimensions of culture
  • communication and culture
  • intercultural competences

The assignments will reflect on your intercultural experience which will have broadened your horizon and intercultural skills.
