Learning outcomes (list)

The bachelor in social educational care work supports, guides, organizes and coordinates living, work and leisure activities in the daily context of the client. He hereby acts in a methodical and sustainable way, with attention to creativity and innovation. He consciously takes action to guarantee the developmental opportunities and the quality of life of the client.
The student evaluates his professional practice by measuring it up against current paradigms and frameworks aimed at supporting and selfrealisation (quality of well-being), in order to reinforce the own direction of people with a care need
The professional bachelor in social educational care work actively contributes (on micro-, meso- and macrolevel) to increase understanding and commitment concerning ethical, normative and social issues related to the profession. He acts in accordance to the universal rights and values.
The student builds a reasoning starting from innovations in the field of Community care
The student gives his opinion on the ethical and social themes in the field of Community Care
The student positions himself towards innovative views on society
The bachelor in social educational care work adapts his professional agogical conduct by making use of critical self reflection, recent insights from scientific research and local, European and international evolutions.
The student implements the concept of multi-directional partiality (multiple partiality)
The student critically evaluates professional dilemmas like active citizenship, the position of informal caretakers, the balans between formal and informal care
The student relates the Flemish professionalisation trend in the health care sector to international trends, aiming at innovation and change
The student measures up community building models/concepts, like community care, community building, networkstrategies, outreaching and support of informal caretakers against theoretical backgrounds
The bachelor in social educational care work collaborates with colleagues in an interdisciplinairy way and communicates with clients, the client system, colleagues and external parties, in a clear and respectful manner, even when the context is complex and specialized.
The student communicates with everyone involved with an interconnecting and empowering attitude and a context-oriented vision in mind
