Learning outcomes (list)

The bachelor in social educational care work supports, guides, organizes and coordinates living, work and leisure activities in the daily context of the client. He hereby acts in a methodical and sustainable way, with attention to creativity and innovation. He consciously takes action to guarantee the developmental opportunities and the quality of life of the client.
The student integrates differences in knowledge level, the bestowing of meaning and the hierarchy of needs in his pedagogical practice
The student makes use of various tools to effectively bridge the cultural gap in specific cases
The student organizes and supports daily life processes in a culture sensitive way
The professional bachelor in social educational care work actively contributes (on micro-, meso- and macrolevel) to increase understanding and commitment concerning ethical, normative and social issues related to the profession. He acts in accordance to the universal rights and values.
The student analyzes intercultural situations by making use of diversity thinking and a broad vision on the care need of the client
The student integrates legal frameworks and the residence status of the client in his pedagogical practice
The student respectfully communicates about differences in ideology, types of magical thinking and superstition, different pedagogical values and frameworks
The student indicates in which way certain images of man and views of the world can influence the way people solve problems
The bachelor in social educational care work adapts his professional agogical conduct by making use of critical self reflection, recent insights from scientific research and local, European and international evolutions.
The student makes use of information gathered from documentation centres and centres of excellence, specialized in interculturality and migration and of valid culture specific information to improve the orthopedagogical practice in a specific case
The student describes his own qualities and limitiations in communicating interculturally (in terms of verbal and nonverbal communication, dealing with his own fears, dealing with stereotypes and self-evidenties, acknowledges other ideologies, ...)
The student actively steps out of his comfortzone, in orde to progress in dealing with his own fears, blind spots and resistance in intercultural contacts
He assists in analyzing the care need of clients and actively helps to guide the process of drawing up a care need plan. In consultation with the parties involved, the bachelor in social educational care work selects goals and suitable methods based on his acquired orthopedagogical knowledge.
The student actively explores cultural and migration processes when analyzing a situation or a care need of a client
The bachelor in social educational care work collaborates with colleagues in an interdisciplinairy way and communicates with clients, the client system, colleagues and external parties, in a clear and respectful manner, even when the context is complex and specialized.
The student communicates in a clear way with the client (geared to his language level and prior knowledge level)
The bachelor in social educational care work supports the client in reinforcing his network in a qualitative and sustainable way, in order to boost the well being and social participation of the client.
The student maps out the resources in the network of the client, even if these are not easy to address (resource in the broader family circle, selforganizations, resources from the own ideology, ...)

Deelname aan de practica (6 u) is verplicht. De student die (gewettigd of ongewettigd) afwezig is, neemt voor elke afwezigheid zelf het initiatief om een vervangopdracht te vragen. Dit gebeurt per mail, ten laatste twee weken na de datum van de afwezigheid. Wanneer de student niet tijdig de vervangta(a)k(en) vraagt of indient en/of de vervangta(a)k(en) niet volgens de opgelegde criteria uitvoert, zal dit leiden tot een verlies van 1,5 punt per vervangtaak op de hands off vaardigheidstoets.

De student wordt beoordeeld op basis van het inbrengen van toepasselijke leerinhouden in het overleg en op het verworven hebben van de specifieke leerdoelen die via deze simulatie vaardigheidstoets worden getoetst.
