Learning outcomes (list)

The associate performs basic electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological measurements and tests.
The student applies the correct measuring principles in function of the specific measuring command in a machine/ installation/ process.
The associate reads and interprets electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological as well as simple P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schemes and drawings and consults technical information, also in at least one foreign language.
The student reads, draws and interprets a simple P&ID scheme.
The associate works in a socially responsible, sustainable and qualitative way and applies safety guidelines and regulations in the domain of HVAC systems.
The student examines the quality of transmitters.
The student predicts the influence of the different components in a simple control loop considering reaching the desired functionality.
The student correctly connects transmitters.
The associate advises and informs users, and proposes improvements regarding use and function.
The student explains, by using an example, how an on/off regulator functions and is constructed.
The associate maintains his skill level by keeping up-to-date with technological developments and is self-critical.
The student looks in an efficient manner for information through Dutch and non-native manuals to use them in a solution-oriented way.
The associate reports his activities efficiently to colleagues and superiors with an eye to the follow-up.
The student explains the difference between a control and a regulation using examples of good practice.
The student describes the characteristic properties and the functioning principle of a P-control.
The student recognizes the different sensor principles and explains the functioning with regard to their functionality in a control loop.
The student presents simple control processes in a block diagram.
