Prerequisites

(previously registered for Elektriciteit AC / Elektrische machines OR to be taken together with Electricity AC) AND (previously registered for Applied electronics CL OR to be taken together with Applied electronics CL) AND (previously registered for Electricity DC OR to be taken together with Electricity DC).
Re-sit exam: is possible.
Possibility of tolerance: This course unit is eligible for tolerance according to the criteria as determined by the degree programme you are enrolled in.

Learning outcomes (list)

The associate performs basic electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological measurements and tests.
The student executes tests on DC motors.
The student executes tests on asynchronous motors.
The student tests the elementary working of a generator.
The associate reads and interprets electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological as well as simple P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schemes and drawings and consults technical information, also in at least one foreign language.
The student describes the properties of uncontrolled and controlled rectifiers.
The student describes the functioning of electronic switches.
The student describes the properties of a frequency converter.
The student describes the solutions for the start up of an asynchronous motor.
The student describes the properties of a synchronous and/or asynchronous machine.
The associate performs - independently and under supervision - the installation, activation and adjustment of climatisation systems in the domain of HVAC systems in a residential and non-residential context.
The student sets parameters in a frequency converter.
The student connects a DC motor control.
The student connects a frequency converter.
