Learning outcomes (list)

The associate reads and interprets electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological as well as simple P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schemes and drawings and consults technical information, also in at least one foreign language.
The student looks up data of different types of pumps and discusses the meaning of the data.
The student looks up data of different types of compressors and discusses the meaning of the data.
The student looks up data of different types of ventilators and discusses the meaning of the data.
The student calculates units to SI units.
The associate advises and informs users, and proposes improvements regarding use and function.
The student enumerates the most important parts of suction, centrifugal and special types of pumps and discusses the functioning principles.
The student explains the functioning principle of a steam turbine and enumerates the parts and scopes.
The student dimensions an installation (pipe diameter, NPSH) in function of the kind of application.
The student substantiates the correct choice of a pump, compressor and/ or ventilator in function of an application.
The student lists the most important parts of compressors and discusses the operation principles.
The student selects a seal in function of the application.
