Prerequisites

(having passed Block printing 1 AND having passed Intaglio 1 AND having passed Lithography 1 AND having passed Silkscreen 1) OR having passed Studio Printmaking 1.

Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student can independently solve a technical and visual problem within screen printing.
The student integrates screen printing within his artistic oeuvre and can combine with other techniques and media.
BA2 - The student has the necessary knowledge, skills and insights regarding material, form, action, concepts, function and contents of the chosen medi
The student can independently press and use the related materials, and has mastered all the basic production processes.
The student explores the possibilities of drawn and digital films and can develop these techniques further.
BA4 - The student develops and sharpens his/her critical and investigative attitude towards designs and/or realizations that arise from visual experiments and research, emotion and intuition.

Course content

The silkscreen technique is explained by use of demonstration. Because of the broad range of contemporary possibilities available, this can be spread during a larger period in time.By realizing assignments, graphic qualities, composition, color and concept are analyzed and discussed individually or in the group. Practicing and developing technical skills, applying artistic insights, clarifying content.

Divers drawing materials, sketchbooks, fine art papers for printing, masking tape.

  • Description: Specific workshops are given to all the students. During the workshops the basic competences and technical skills are being explained. This means that the presence of the students in these workshops are necessary. During the year the students are being individually guided and evaluated, so their participation and presence in classes is required.
