The student has passed the drawing skills and techniques of costume drawing 1.
The student has gained additional drawing skills in the lessons drawing live model and costume design

Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student can apply the skills acquierd during the academic year to the assignment designs for the chosen theater texts.
The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge and the methodology to analyze dramaturgy dramatics on concrete assignments of the professional field, both as an applied artist and as a free artist.

Course content

-First semester: the focus is put on one stylistic period from costume history. This is researched on forms, customs, social classes, accessories, fabrics, etc. This research results in the making of a book in which both visual documentation and technical information of at least the assignment 'historical costume' in the section costume making, as well as drawing notes, costume drawings and detail sketches in a completely free style are included.
-Second semester: watching films and tv dramas in which historical costume plays an important role; keeping an information book with stills from film or series and a documentary research of the era the film is inspired by and converting this research into your own interpretative drawings, in which all free drawing techniques are allowed.
