Course content

The course 'Concept dramaturgy 2' builds further on the basic dramaturgical principles taught in the course 'Concept dramaturgy 1'. Dramaturgy is situated between theory and practice. It is a reflection on a text, theme or concept, and how to make this concrete in a scenic practice.

While 'Concept dramaturgy 1' was an introduction to dramaturgy, in this course we work around some concrete themes. These are always placed and analysed in their social, political and technological context. Some new instruments and techniques are introduced to use during dramaturgical work.

The students make a dramaturgical analysis of various cases. They are encouraged to do different forms of research and to translate these into a concrete realization.

The course mainly consists of work seminars, in combination with a viewing, presentation and reading trajectory.
