Course content

Introduction to the properties of light, the light interaction with gemstones and the various cuts of gemstones.
Theoretical discussion of the formation processes and properties of gemstones and their imitations and syntheses.
Introduction in the gem identification process: operation and application of various devices during identification.
Practical information about the identification of gemstones.

Attendance at lessons is compulsory. If the student is absent more than three times, participation in the examination may be refused.
