Prerequisites

Learning outcomes (list)

1.1 The student masters the representative repertoire for his or her discipline.
The student can accompany standard chord progressions and to a limited extent, harmonise and re-harmonise them.
2.1 The student masters the musical parameters and structures.
The student knows basic piano skills and uses these to gain a better understanding of the basic elements of jazz music (voice-leading, form, harmony and rhythm).
2.2 The student makes progress through independent study.
The student can form a study plan and follow it.
2.3 The student reads, analyses, writes and interprets music.
The student can use the piano as a means of helping make simple compositions, arrangements, harmonisations and re-harmonisations.
The student can play a standard with two-handed, five-part voicings with tensions.
