Should we do away with HRM?
There is good reason for HRM’s beleaguered situation. It is often ineffective, incompetent and costly. But the truth is that HRM has never been more necessary! The competitive forces that managers and organisations face today and will face in the future demand organisational and human excellence

- Lectures and/or guest lectures with debates. The discussion with and among students is stimulated
- Practicum: independent research on a specific topic which results in a presentation with other student(s).
- Coaching and feedback by the lecturer.

Learning outcomes (text)

- The student is aware of the importance of a solid HRM policy to improve the performance of staff members as well as the functioning of the organization
- The student knows about the role in HRM of different members of an organisation: staff member, line manager and HR-manager
- The student has an insight in the main areas of human resource management and their inter-relationship
- The student can develop a critical view concerning theories and models of HRM
