Course content

A genealogy of current performance art is used to provide an overview of the role played by the performative dimension of artwork in the development of modern art. In addition to paying considerable attention to both historical and neo-avant-garde (after the Second World War) traditions, the course places particular emphasis on the manner in which avant-garde artists manifested themselves in artistic spaces, as well as in the public sphere.
