Learning outcomes (list)

4.1 The student has extensive knowledge of the broader cultural and (musical) historical context and can use this in his or her artistic practice.
The student knows the history, start and evolution of electronic music and recording techniques by specific 20th century repertoire and knows the principal representatives and pioneers.

Course content

Elements: electronic sound synthesis, control of the electronic sound parameters and sample techniques, sound transformations, composition and spatialisation

Specifics:

Jorrit Tamminga: sound synthesisation, algorithmic composition, live electronics
David Baeck: music technology including recording techniques, midi, sampling and composition for images
