Using concrete examples of cross-fertilization between music and literature, students are further initiated into the interpretation and interpretation of literary texts that form the basis for a composition.
An attempt is made to examine the ways in which music and literature correlate. In doing so, particular attention is paid toto Lieder and Opera. Texts are placed in a general cultural-historical framework and analyzed together. For poetic texts, keys are provided for translation, analysis and interpretation. For opera libretti, shifts are checked with the literary source; the text is dramaturgically analyzed and interpreted with a view to staging.
