Educational organisation (text)

The student is individually supervised, assessed and evaluated in the studio.
This means that participation in the classes and involvement in the studio is essential. In the event of legitimate absence, bring an attestation of absence to the student secretariat as soon as possible. Illegitimate absenteeism may compromise your study progress.

Course content

The student acquires the skills for a professional life as an artist/designer by means of a programme offered by the teacher and/or by a programme developed, proposed and motivated by the student and approved by the teacher. A programme proposal by the student, if allowed by the teacher, has to be submitted before 15 October.

The program may contain following aspects:

Internationalisation: participation in workshop(s), internship, international exchange, lecture(s), visits to (international) exhibitions, study tours, fairs, etc.

Presentation/communication/portfolio: drawing up a portfolio, participation in exhibitions, participation in workshops, etc.

Internship/work field experience: in a museum, gallery or other art institution, performing arts institution, artist's or designer's studio, etc.

Professionalisation: a fixed set of lessons that teaches the student to position himself in the professional field, possibly supplemented by contacts with other artists, galleries, critics, cultural institutions, collaborations with third parties, participation in fairs, workshops, lectures.

Evaluation (text)

Continuous evaluation based on various evaluation moments throughout the academic year.

The student presents his work process in one of the following forms, as stipulated by the teacher: (oral or visual) presentation, written report/reflection, or 2D/3D work result or a combination of the aforementioned. Depending on the program also other presentation can be used.

The presentation form is recorded in the program as developed or approved by the teacher. In the program, the teacher also describes the weights of the various aspects to be evaluated.

The dates for submitting the assignments / tutorials / presentations will be notified to the student by e-mail in advance, depending on the type of activity to be evaluated.
