Short description

In this course we describe the various dimensions of HRM. We identify the key considerations in the HR planning process. We execute
key processes and activities associated with recruitment, labor market communication and selection. We discuss key concerns in
employer development and consider how employer performance can be improved. We outline the characteristics of sustainable
employability and propose interventions to improve well-being in the workplace.

Educational organisation (text)

- Lectures and/or guest lectures with debates. The discussion with and among students is stimulated
- Practicum: independent research on a specific topic which results in a presentation with other student(s).
- Coaching and feedback by the lecturer.

Learning outcomes (text)

- The student is aware of the importance of a solid HRM policy to improve the performance of staff members as well as the functioning of the organization
- The student knows about the role in HRM of different members of an organisation: staff member, line manager and HR-manager
- The student has an insight in the main areas of human resource management and their inter-relationship
- The student can develop a critical view concerning theories and models of HRM

The student outlines the characteristics of sustainable employability and proposes interventions to improve wellbeing in the workplace.
13.1 You have an understanding and knowledge of accounting, economics, statistical processing software, social security, human resources management, marketing and sales techniques, and CRM systems.
The student defines human resource development programs and discusses key concerns in employer development. 
The student identifies and executes key processes and activities associated with recruitment, labor market communication and selection.
The student identifies key considerations and stages in the HR planning process and outline labour market influences on HR decision-making
The student recognizes and describes the various dimensions of HRM and the  employment relationship.  
13.3 You pay attention to quality assurance.
The student considers and substantiates how HRM can intervene to improve employer performance in a strategic way.
