2.1 The student masters the musical parameters and structures.
The student recognises and knows the applicability of musical parameters in the Romantic period to today.
2.5b The student recognises musical material on hearing it.
The student can name, play back and note triads and their inversions in a tonal context.
The student can name, play back, note and transpose cadences in an extended tonal context.
The student can name, play back and note intervals and chords in an extended tonal context.
The student can note from memory unmeasured series of notes in an extended tonal context.
The student can note a one- or two-voice rhythmic series of notes in an extended tonal and metrical context.
The student can note more complex binary and ternary rhythmic patterns

Course content

Read the vademecum.

- recognise, name, repeat and intonate all diphthongs, triads and fours, including outside the octave
- replaying and notation from memory of 'random lines' (melodic lines, max. 12 notes for Level II) with the addition of scale alien notes
- chord dictation (triads in root position and inversions, quadruples in root position only) with a given bass or soprano voice (basso continuo and letter cipher)
- replay of triads with changing note (max.2)
- replay of series of diphthongs without a common note (max.5)
- harmonic-melodic memory training
- recognition, naming, restatement and intonation of all scales, see Level I
- playing, notation and transposition of longer melodic fragments
(theme dictation) and 2-3 and 4-sounds on piano (or own instrument)
- recognition and naming of cadences in a broader context
- notation of unison theme dictation with modulations (level II)
- two-three-voice notation, completion and correction dictation (homophonic and polyphonic), played tonally, both from the piano and via CD fragments
- building of listening skills on the basis of music fragments from different styles, cultures,...via CD recordings
- learning to hear and correct mistakes (mel. rhythm) through listening fragments
