Prerequisite competencies (text)

Successful passing of the entrance exam for Wind and Brass Band conducting.
At the entrance exam, the student must demonstrate that he/she possesses the correct pre-requisites. See the details of the entrance exam on the website.

Learning outcomes (list)

1.4 The student makes music in an artistic project in a creative manner.
The student has knowledge of HaFaBra instruments.
The student can, with coaching, realise arrangements or transcriptions for various settings, brass band, brass and wind orchestra from scores for other settings or from piano music.

Course content

The course content deals with knowledge of various instruments, their possibilities and limitations, settings, and other topics.
Students work independently on arrangement assignments and are coached and corrected by the teacher during individual or group-focussed lessons.
Instrumentation 1 deals with relatively small, generally homogenous instrumental combinations (such as flute ensemble, double-reed ensemble, horn trio/quartet etc).
