Short description

We explore different aspects of illustrative design in this olod. Case studies of contemporary illustrators will cover various analogue and digital techniques (analogue printing techniques, digital drawing and painting, in-depth illustration software). In this subject, we make the bridge between digital and analogue applications: a laptop is a tool, but the physical realisation of an image is just as important. An aptitude for drawing is a nice touch in this subject, but not a requirement. The ability to tell a story with images is central.

Submissions for evaluation shall always consist of the candidate's own work and shall be submitted within the deadlines provided. If ideas, images or texts, ideas, designs or parts of designs of others are used, the author, designer and/or location of the work must be clearly mentioned to avoid plagiarism - and thus exam fraud.

Note: The effective examination format will be communicated via Digitap. The effective exam time is communicated via Webuntis.

Absence during class weeks outside the exam series

You justify your absence. You do this by uploading a medical certificate (in case of illness) or other evidence (in case of force majeure) via iBamaflex in the 'My absences' module before the assignment deadline or the moment when a presentation or a compulsory lecture takes place.

If you miss an assignment submission moment, a catch-up moment is possible if your absence is legitimate.
If you miss a presentation or lecture with compulsory attendance, it is not possible to make it up in most cases.
In both cases, contact your lecturer within 3 working days to make concrete arrangements.

During the exam series, a different procedure applies. You can find this on student.ap.be.
