Course content

In Drawing 3, the focus is on developing an artistic practice. Starting from intuition and through imagination, students start a personal visual research. Through experimentation and practice, they sharpen their technical expertise and deepen their graphic understanding. Students are expected to be increasingly independent in the studios. Through individual discussions, a personal course is developed. Technical support is tailored to the student.

- The student is guided to test instinctive work processes and material experimentation against content reflection. The student has insight into the possibilities of his/her own images and can mature ideas through material research and experimentation. While drawing, the student develops a visual universe in which one drawing provides the impetus to create the next.

- From drawing research, the student is guided to select images and make connections. The student has insight into what the chosen form, material and technique convey and can consciously use these as visual language.

- The student is challenged to think about different presentation methods and is introduced to different exhibition forms. The student develops insight into the relationship between his/her own images and a (given) context. The student also learns to make conscious choices in this respect.
