Prerequisite competencies (text)

Basic knowledge of Windows: opening a program, creating, organizing and renaming folders, making and moving files in Explorer. Basic knowledge of English to be able to use tutorials.

Learning outcomes (list)

BA2 - The student has the necessary knowledge, skills and insights regarding material, form, action, concepts, function and contents of the chosen medi
The student masters Rhino's basic commands for creating and editing curves, surfaces, solids.
The student can draw correctly in Rhino (length, radius, angle, coordinates).
The student masters the drawing of more complex shapes with specific surface and solid commands
The student is able to produce (simple) technical drawings and can render these.

Course content

Basic functions of Rhino.

Strategy to understand and model complex shapes.

Modelling own design in the software, and executing in the workshop.

Study material (text): Mandatory

Install the free Rhino 5.0 evaluation software on your own computer. You can only save your work 25 times. Exists both for PC and Mac.

On Blackboard are many tutorials about Rhino (Rhino level 1 and rendering techniques) and other useful information.
