Student 

- Has a thorough knowledge of the latest and most common software for graphics applications.

- Can make depending on the job a choice of available software and independently realize a comprehensive assignment

- Can format or modify images depending on their specific purpose, for printed or virtual use on various media.

The student has knowledge of the techniques for digital font design and can digitally generate a font design.
The student can create digital presentations.
The student can use software in a specific wayto work out complex assignments.
The student can make correct design decisions in function of the software.

Course content

Theoretical part:

Digital manuals for the specific software for font design: FontLab/Glyphs/Fontself

Application:

Study of the software trough didactic exercises supplemented by free assignments with a personal input.

Themes:-Digital font design and presentation on a variety of media including animation sound.

Digital manuals for the specific software packages

Within the framework of this course unit, various graphic design instruments and production methods are used. In particular, you will need a laptop with a good display, good processor units and sufficient random access memory and disk space to use current graphics software. The educational environment itself mainly uses Apple computers and can provide additional computing power for design processes that require it. You do not need to purchase a personal laptop prior to class: information about this purchase will be made available at the start of the academic year.
