Prerequisite competencies (text)

The student has passed the entrance examination in sculpture, is interested in visual arts and sculpture and shows an open and motivated attitude.

The student knows the most important sources of information about his/her assignments and is able to process these sources of information in a personal manner by making meaningful connections between found materials and processing them in drawings and design drawings.


Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student can process a given assignment personally and plastically.
BA5 - When developing his/her personal visual language the students starts from a searching and reflective attitude when developing one's own visual language.
The student experiments with different materials.
The student studies the different possibilities with regard to the presentation of his plastic work.
BA6 - The student understands the characteristics of his/her personal designs and/or realizations and is able to communicate about this in an appropriate manner.
The student can articulate the development of his creative process.
BA7 - The student is able to organize his/her artistic project in consultation with others.
The student respects the deadlines and is able to finalise and present his work on time.

Course content

Research into the medium of sculpture, materials and presentation possibilities on the basis of various assignments. Individual critical reflection on one's own work and the work of fellow students. Research into the medium of sculpture by looking at contemporary and historical references. Analysis of the meaning and associations of images and materials.

Study material (text): Mandatory

Various design materials: sketchbook, all drawing materials, paper/cardboard, model, knife, scissors, glue, Various execution materials: metal, clay, paper/cardboard etc. Specific, assignment-related materials will be communicated in time.
