Learning outcomes (list)

1.4 The student is musically creative.
The student completes harmony exercises with understanding of melodic line, progression techniques, modulation from the 2nd degree, cadences and choice and functionality of chords.
2.1 The student masters the musical parameters and structures.
The student can devise a four-voice setting (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) according to functional tonal harmony rules, in which the bass and soprano parts are given, making use of chords, dominant seventh chords and seventh chords on II.
The student completes harmony exercises with understanding of melodic line, progression techniques, modulation from the 2nd degree, cadences and choice and functionality of chords.
2.2 The student makes progress through independent study.
The student eliminates specific shortcomings and deficiences by means of the individual assignments.
2.3 The student reads, analyses, writes and interprets music.
The student can recognise all chords and use them in a functional way.

The Harmony & Counterpoint subsidiary course pays particular attention to the vertical aspect of writing: recognising and being able to use all chords functionally.
