Short description

The student receives weekly individual lessons from the teacher where improvements take place from independently completed exercises or style compositions.

The student develops stylistics in the areas of harmony and counterpoint (baroque)

The student acquires knowledge and understanding of triads and inversions, chord progressions, cadences, simple modulations, simple embellishments

The student studies the course, analyzes music and harmonizes weekly assignments and makes style compositions.

Learning outcomes (list)

1.2 The student can make music in various styles.
The student develops from a stylistic point of view in terms of harmony (Classicism) and counterpoint (Baroque).
2.1 The student masters the musical parameters and structures.
The student acquires knowledge and understanding of, and can apply, triads and their inversions, chord progressions, cadences, simple modulations, simple ornaments (passing notes, auxiliary notes) in the upper voice and the fluent writing of melodies.
2.2 The student makes progress through independent study.
The student eliminates specific shortcomings and deficiences by means of the individual assignments and the systematic completion of exercises.
2.3 The student reads, analyses, writes and interprets music.
The student develops musical understanding of a score by writing simple harmony and counterpoint him- or herself.

Harmony: renaissance and early baroque
* chord theory: all triads in root position, first inversion, cadential quarter sixth chord, dominant seventh chord, intermediate dominants

* ornamentation: continuation notes, alternating notes, falling delays, jumping off notes and anticipations

* sequences, modulations

Counterpoint: baroque

* 2-voice counterpoint
* written exercises on the subject matter (vocal and/or instrumental)Read the vademecum.
Harmony: Renaissance and Early Baroque
-chord theory: all triads in root position, first inversion, cadential six-four chord, dominant seventh chord, secondary dominants
-ornaments: passing tones, neighbor tones, escape tones, descending suspensions and anticipations
-sequences, modulations
Counterpoint: Baroque
2-voice counterpoint: 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 without chromaticism
Written exercises on the subject matter (vocal and/or instrumental)
