2.2 The student makes progress through independent study.
The student can form a study plan and follow it.
4.1 The student has knowledge of the broader cultural and (musical) historical context.
The student has an understanding of the variuos stylistic periods from the second half of the 20th century to today: the 1950s: cool jazz and hard bop, new developments in the 1960s: modal jazz and free jazz, the 1970s: fusion, classicism.
The student can recognise on hearing them the various stylistic periods from the second half of the 20th century until today and can recognise their principal representatives.
The student observes concerts and can discuss these critically with correct use of language.
