The student can locate and critically read sources related to music.
The student knows the most important reference works, catalogues and databanks for music research.
The student knows the principles and methodology of heuristics: literature study and bibliographical references.

Course content

* Introduction to basic principles of research and investigation in the arts.
* Introduction to the principles and methodology of heuristics: literature review and bibliographic reference.
* Introduction to the most important reference works, catalogues and databases for music research.
* Research and critical reading of music-related sources.
* Start to Write: basics of academic writing
