the lessons are bundled on 30 days, spread over two blocks of 15 days in the first and second semester. Register with Wim Henderickx.

Learning outcomes (list)

1.1 The student masters the representative repertoire for his or her discipline.
The student can conceptualize and plan audiovisual compositions using the given technological and programming tools.
The student can apply their own algorithmic thinking skills to music and audiovisual composition.

Course content

- The course focuses on music for film, television and games.
- The course focuses on style composition: 'animation', 'action music', 'comedy', 'horror', 'main title music' and 'tunes', 'trailer music', etc.
- The course focuses on digital orchestration, hybrid scores, the art of mock-up (sample libraries).
- The course focuses on a basic knowledge of 'synthesis' (composing with synths).
- The course focuses on a basic knowledge of Logic Pro
- The course focuses on audio editing, recording techniques, mixing, sampling techniques.
- The course focuses on the film/game music business and history.
- The course focuses on working as an assistant (conforming, beat mapping, midi clean up, take downs, copyist work, Sibelius/Final templates).

Study material (text): Mandatory

The student must have a home studio:

- Logic pro X (or another DAW such as Cubase, Pro Tools, etc)...The course works with Logic
- Speakers (e.g. Yamaha HS7).
- Interface (e.g. Focusrite)
- Headphones (e.g. Sony)
- Microphone and xlr cable
- Midi controller (e.g. M-audio)
- Kontact and some basic sample libraries such as Albion One
