Learning outcomes (list)

This course includes the following learning objectives:
Analyses the basic musical knowledge and skills of specific students and groups of students.
Can choose material from the existing repertoire which is appropriate for the student group and can write new material such that the repertoire stays up-to-date.
Formulates objectives using lesson plans for jazz Ensemble subjects.
Pays attention to the social interaction within the class group and capitalises on it.
Knows the musical and ensemble parameters for an improvising ensemble and can use these in a realistic lesson situation.
Has a minimum level of instrumental knowledge such that appropriate tips can be given for each instrument (group).
Creates suitable improvisation assignments which are appropriate for the student group.
Makes arrangements of existing repertoire for the student group.
Can specify his or her own strengths and weaknesses and manage these appropriately.
Researches the function and relevance of the Ensemble teacher in education, society, and the artistic world.
Use artistic passion, skills and personality to inspire and guide pupils in their search for their own artistic passion and identity.
