Learning outcomes (list)

The associate reads and interprets electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological as well as simple P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schemes and drawings and consults technical information, also in at least one foreign language.
The student applies the theoretical links between various SI quantities.
The student uses the unities of the various SI quantities.
The student calculates the necessary heat for the heating/cooling/changing of the phase of a substance.
The student outlines the construction of a simple cooling circuit and heat pump.
The student constructs a pressure-enthalpy diagram of a simple cooling cycle.
The student finds a connection between the physical quantities in a simple cooling circuit.
The student constructs a pressure-capacity diagram of a status change of an ideal gas.
The student explains the term "coefficient of performance" (COP) of a cooling device/ heat pump.
The student explains the functioning of the direct expanse system by means of the log p-h diagram.
The student illustrates the distinction between the three forms of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) using concrete examples from everyday practice.
