Short description

As a Business Management graduate, you will come into contact with the international work field. In this course unit, you will learn what are the most common causes of ineffective intercultural communication. You will learn that culture affects international business and how to apply correct business etiquette.

Course content

You will develop a professional level of management competences in an international business context.

Topics covered include:

  • cultural classification systems;
  • subcultures;
  • intercultural communication competences;
  • barriers to cross-cultural communication (fear, stereotypes, prejudices, cultural narrow mindedness);
  • misunderstandings in non-verbal cross-cultural communication;
  • language problems in a cross-cultural context;
  • business etiquette of different countries.
