Course content

Although the practices of the scenographer and the costume designer are generally perceived as a practice in collaboration with the director and/or choreographer, these processes are rarely associated with each other in an educational context. By bringing these practices within the Master Dance programme, the dance artist can use scenography and costume not only as elements to support the creation, but also as tools to explore, create and define a performance. The aim is to further expand the dialogue between the student and their practice by engaging in an exchange with different teaching artists who will share their practice, research and perspectives on these topics.

The course will be divided in two parts; scenography and costume. It will be guided by teachers who are artists and researchers coming from different backgrounds. They interweave practice and theory in their own work and share their methods and strategies with the students. This provides the students with tools they can integrate into their Master project.
